Motivation is Key in School

Category: MotivationAnders Eriksson @ 11:50 pm

The job of the teacher is to teach the students. If the students are not doing very well in class which is evident in their performance, something is definitely wrong which is why motivation is also important if you want the best to come out of the student.

If the students are not motivated, it is only right that you find out what they are not motivated. If the problem is only with one or two kids in school, perhaps there is a problem at home but if this affects the entire class, then you know that the problem is much bigger.

The problem could be your teaching strategy and this means you have to make the adjustment not them.

To do that, review what you have done in the past and see how it can be improved on. Naturally you can’t teach the same subject matter on and you have to move on so try to make the adjustments in the future lessons.

Instead of doing all the talking, why don’t you let the students do some research and let them come up to the front of the class and deliver what they know. You can also assign students to do group work or come up with other schemes, which makes learning fun and not boring.

When you are the one making the lecture, make it fun and exciting. There are different ways for students to learn and it does not always come from books. You may let the class see a movie or schedule a field trip to the museum or to some other famous landmark.

If you don’t have accurate details regarding Motivation, then you might make a bad choice on the subject. Don’t let that happen: keep reading.

Naturally, it is time to grade them so give each student some time to speak in front of the class. This may prove to be a bit difficult knowing that some students don’t want to answer when called so find some other ways to get to them to participate.

Give them assignments that will allow them to think out of the box. Since exams will always follow, make sure they understand what the lesson for the entire semester is about so they will be able to do well in the exam.

Aside from doing your share and they also doing theirs, don’t forget to reward them for doing well in class. You can do so by writing a positive comment on their work, saying a good praise with other people in the class present, handing out a few prizes or giving certain exemptions to deserving students.

Motivation is key in school because as a teacher, you are the one thing that shapes them to become whoever they want to be once they graduate. Will they do well once they leave these halls? Maybe and you won’t know that next week or the year after and only a few years later.

If a certain student did well, they may visit you one day to see how you are doing and thank you personally for what you have done for them. So teachers, take your job seriously because taking this position is not just so you can earn money and earn a decent living.

It is a responsibility that must be handled with care because their future is in your hands and this begins with a little motivation coming from you.

You can’t predict when knowing something extra about Motivation will come in handy. If you learned anything new about Motivation in this article, you should file the article where you can find it again.

Using Health as Motivation to Become Beautiful

Category: MotivationAnders Eriksson @ 9:40 am

Many people?especially women?don’t realize it but their health greatly affects their overall beauty.

Although beauty is such a daunting subject to discuss because it could be perceived in so many ways but one thing is certain: a healthy person is always beautiful no matter what.

Experts say that what most people don’t realize is that being healthy plays a vital role to the common standard of beauty? having well-highlighted physical features. Today, not only women are particular about beauty but men as well. This is because having physical comeliness can lead people to greater opportunities and can even give them better options in life when it comes to career and relationships. Although the beauty industry is now swarmed with various beauty products that promise instant physical transformation and bombarded with countless services that aim to alter a person’s nature-endowed features, more and more people still believe that real beauty lie on being healthy.

If you are one of those who would want to look and maintain their beauty for a long time, you should use the concept of being healthy as a motivation as early as now. Here are some tips and practices that can motivate you to be healthy, live healthy and to become more and more beautiful as years go by:

1. Eat healthy. This is the simplest yet the hardest part of becoming healthy and beautiful. Many people don’t realize it that what they eat is what their health and their bodies reflect. If you want to use health as a motivation to achieve long lasting beauty, try eating a well-balanced diet by loading up on fruits, vegetables and water everyday.

If you find yourself confused by what you’ve read to this point, don’t despair. Everything should be crystal clear by the time you finish.

2. Get into regular physical activities such as exercise. Aside from keeping your body well nourished by eating the right kinds of food, you should also keep your muscles fit by having regular physical activities such as exercise. If you don’t have time for a regular workout in the gym, try brisk walking or light lifting at home.

3. Make sure that you get enough rest. Having plenty of sleep and enough rest will ensure that you will have a clearer mind and positive outlook in life. If you have these, you will handle challenges easily and will help you avoid being stressed which is one of the primary causes of aging.

4. Take time off to relax by engaging in recreational activities. Being happy and healthy is enough motivation to look beautiful. If you can, take some time off to relax, reflect, and re-assess yourself. If you have inner peace, you will see things differently.

5. Opt for natural and chemical-free products on your body. Too much chemicals are known to kill cells in the body which lead to premature aging. If you can, use only those products that are natural or organic based so you won’t be taking in too much chemicals in your body once your apply these on your skin.

6. Believe in yourself, always. This is probably the best motivation one can get to stay healthy and look beautiful at the same time. If you believe in yourself, you will know your strengths and weaknesses. If you know all these, you can come up with ways to cope with problems without having to endure so much stress in your life.

Now might be a good time to write down the main points covered above. The act of putting it down on paper will help you remember what’s important about Motivation.

What is Self Motivation

Category: MotivationAnders Eriksson @ 10:12 pm

Have you ever wondered what exactly is up with Motivation? This informative report can give you an insight into everything you’ve ever wanted to know about Motivation.

Ever wondered what gets you up in the morning? It is the hope that comes with a new day. If all hope is lost, you wouldn’t bother to get up and that is one of the things about self-motivation.

Self-motivation is simply the inner drive in each of us that makes us want to succeed. Were you born with it? No but this develops as you grow older thanks to the help of your family, friends and school.

A good example from your parents could be you asking them to buy something you see in the store and they tell you to work for it if you want to get it. One option will be to offer you an incentive like getting good grades and in return, this is given to you as a reward.

If you are grown up already, they will probably tell you to find a job like delivering newspaper or mowing the neighbor’s lawn in exchange for cash. Once you are able to collect enough money, only then will you be able to buy it.

Such examples teach you one thing and that is to set a goal. Since a goal is like an ?X? in a treasure map, you have to plan a path so you are able to get there. If you are able to follow the right path, you will be able to get what you want regardless of the objective.

The best time to learn about Motivation is before you’re in the thick of things. Wise readers will keep reading to earn some valuable Motivation experience while it’s still free.

Not everything we want in life is going to be given to us on a silver platter and chances are, this is when you are thinking of giving up. Should you quit? Some people will but you have to fight that urge and continue on. By being to do that, you will soon develop the habit of never giving up and always finishing what you started.

We mentioned earlier that our friends and people in school contribute to self-motivation. While not everyone will share your dreams and goals, this is why you have to socialize with those that have similar interest. Studies have shown that motivation is contagious and if all of you have a winning attitude, there is nothing that you guys cannot do.

In any goal, there will be a few setbacks that will come your way. This will delay your goals but by learning from it, you will be able to overcome it. This in itself is what sets us apart from animals because we are able to learn from others and at the same time discover a few things on our own.

One thing you might learn is that there is some goals that are too far to reach so new ones need to be made. Does this mean we gave up? Some people will think so but there is something good that comes out of it which is our ability to channel our focus elsewhere perhaps to a certain interest or talent that we possess which in the end will make us more successful.

Self-motivation is an ongoing process and the only way we become better and stronger is to make a few mistakes a long the way and also face a few setbacks. In essence, you have to take a certain amount of risk because it is the good times and the bad that makes us a better person.

The Secrets to a Motivating Sermon

Category: MotivationAnders Eriksson @ 8:30 am

Have you ever wondered if what you know about Motivation is accurate? Consider the following paragraphs and compare what you know to the latest info on Motivation.

A sermon is defined as an address of a religious nature. For that matter, every preacher is capable of delivering a sermon. Not all sermons we hear, however, are effective and they can only be so if they become your listeners’ source of motivation. If you want to make your sermon outstanding, focus on the needs of your listeners and give them the inspiration to help them solve their needs. Of course, before you can do any of that, you need to find a way to connect to them first.

How to Connect with Your Listeners through Your Motivational Sermon
To connect with your listener, you need to share with them something that’s relevant, interesting, and enlightening. Keep in mind as well that the operative word here is ?share’. Be sure that you share with them first the requisite inf ormation

or story before preaching, telling, or asking.

Human Interest Stories
These stories are those that portray certain situations the human race experience, situations that not only evoke sympathy but urge us to reflect more deeply about our lives as well. Use this technique if you wish your listeners to realize how lucky they are and be motivated by that realization.

Illustrations
Simply put, cite an example or illustration of something you witnessed or you know about. Sermons become more motivating when listeners understand that what you’re sharing with them is something that could happen to them, too.

Quotations
Everyone can construct a sentence, but not everyone will be quoted for it. Quotations are special statements that bring home a certain truth. Use them wisely and sparsely; if you use too many of them, your listeners might not be able to fully digest the import of each and every quote. Use of quotations also makes them aware that people of authority are more or less preaching the same message.

The more authentic information about Motivation you know, the more likely people are to consider you a Motivation expert. Read on for even more Motivation facts that online you can share.

Historical References
If a quote is simply not enough then perhaps you could give them something more substantial by referring to an incident in history. The past is one of our greatest sources of wisdom. Research diligently and you’ll be surprised at the various lessons you can learn and consequently share with others.

Facts and Statistics
There’s something so horrible about actual facts and figures that make people sit up and take notice. They are best used when people are stubbornly blind and deaf to the truth. Because facts and figures are easily verifiable, they make a good way of emphasizing your point. Of course, don’t use them merely to frighten your listeners. Use it to call their attention but remind them afterwards that there’s always hope for change, hope is what they should cling on, and hope is what should motivate them.

Humor
Laughter is the best medicine in the world and this proves true in many ways. Adding a touch of humor is good for motivational sermons; it makes your listeners more inclined to hear what you have to say. Humor makes you less a figurehead and more real, a person they can empathize with and understand.

Technology
Use technology to make your motivational sermon more effective. Audio-visuals are always a great help; Power Point presentations and videos can provide supporting evidence for what you have to say. The Internet is also a considerable source of information and it can help make your sermon more substantial.

Lastly, believe in what you have to say, be motivated by the fact that you’re helping others and they’re sure to respond to you.

Motivation and Managers

Category: MotivationAnders Eriksson @ 10:27 pm

of something. This something is a person’s motivation.

Like a car, a person will need some sort of gas that will rev it up to move. The gas is that one thing that will drive a car. The same goes with people. Motivation is the single driving factor that makes people get up and go. It is that one thing that will make them do things that they should be doing.

There are different kinds of motivation for different people. People want different things for their lives and thus, they do things for different reasons. Some people are motivated by their need for security. This can be in the form of material possessions or security with their state in life. For some people having money in their bank account will make them secure while there are people who need to have a steady job in order to do that. Some people however are motivated by the need for recognition or achievement while there are some who are already content with having a network of people supporting them.

These different kinds of motivation will determine the things that people will do with their lives and how they will respond to people. For instance, people who are more motivated by recognition do not care about the money. They just want to be known or to be famous. These are artists of the worlds who do not really care if they earn or not. Their need is not to earn money but to show the world their art and be recognized for it.

Truthfully, the only difference between you and Motivation experts is time. If you’ll invest a little more time in reading, you’ll be that much nearer to expert status when it comes to Motivation.

Another example are women who are already okay being housewives and staying at home to take care of their families. It is not because they cannot have a career of their own, they just do not have the drive to go into the corporate world. These women are not motivated to be recognized for their work but to be loved by those that they love. These people are motivated by their need for affiliation.

Motivation is important in the sense that you will know how you can deal with people if you know how they are motivated. For instance if you have employees who are security driven, you will know that they need to be at peace with their jobs. They should probably given housing and car benefits. Other employees however need to be praised and recognized more than others. These are the ones who are more motivated by recognition. Anoother type of persons need to be given responsibilities.

The more the merrier. If they are not given these, they will feel left out. Others on the other hand don’t want responsibilities at all. They just want to be invited to concerts because they need affiliation.

Knowing what motivates a person will help managers handle their subordinated better. It will also easier for them to give them tasks and assign them to certain jobs. Hiring people will also yield better results if you find their motivation. After all, all you need to actually do is to hire people who are achievement-oriented.

These people’s motivation are internal. They are motivated to achieve and accomplish. You cannot get a better employee than that.

Those who only know one or two facts about Motivation can be confused by misleading information. The best way to help those who are misled is to gently correct them with the truths you’re learning here.

How to Motivate Someone or Yourself to Quit Smoking

Category: MotivationAnders Eriksson @ 1:37 pm

Would you like to find out what those-in-the-know have to say about Motivation? The information in the article below comes straight from well-informed experts with special knowledge about Motivation.

You may have heard this a thousand times: smoking can kill you. You may have seen it on television, where people showcase shrunken lungs, shriveled aortas, and dead smokers who look more like pavement than they do people. You may have been told that your body will break down due to the thousands of poisons in cigarette smoke.

You may have been told that you will grow weak and that you will not be able to exert yourself physically with your bad habits. And you may have been warned against the dangers of cancer, which can go hand in hand with smoking. However, you can’t seem to find the energy, let alone the motivation, to quit. What do you do?

If you are a smoker, then you may want to look at the following tips to get yourself to quit.

- Scare tactics don’t always work, but encouragement can.

Look for a friend who is an ex-smoker and ask that friend for two things: first, ask for advice on what you should do in order to quit your habit fast and successfully; and second, ask for that person to be your mentor. He or she can guide you on the road to quitting smoking permanently.

- Talk to your doctor about different methods that you can use to quit smoking. You may be asked to take nicotine patches, drink certain medications, or even go cold turkey, depending on how frequently you smoke. You might also do well to ask your doctor about rehabilitation centers that you can visit and that you can afford.

Knowledge can give you a real advantage. To make sure you’re fully informed about Motivation, keep reading.

- Look for rewards that can help you push yourself to quit. You can set personal records: say, if you cut yourself to smoking only three cigarette sticks a day, then reward yourself by going out to watch a movie, or by treating yourself at a fancy restaurant. Look for ways to do negative reinforcement as well: give a lot of money to a charitable organization whose cause you do not favor if you start going back to old habits.

On the other hand, if you want to motivate a friend to quit smoking, then you may want to use the following tips.

- Be encouraging, not pushy. Tell your friend that you really appreciate the person not smoking, and tell that friend that you will be there for him or her while he or she is going through the pains of quitting smoking. Again, scare tactics don’t always work, so don’t fly in your friend’s face and preach about the dangers of smoking.

- Set a good example. Quitting smoking is just part and parcel of living a good and decent lifestyle, so if you are smoking yourself, you have no right to motivate someone else to quit smoking. Live a good lifestyle by working out, going to the gym, eating healthy, and sleeping early. Show your friend that a good lifestyle can equal a good personality by being accommodating and kind. This way, you show, and not just tell your friend that there’s a great life waiting for him or her when he or she quits smoking.

- When your friend starts smoking again, avoid being confrontational. If it’s the first time that it’s happened, talk to your friend and encourage him or her to quit. If it happens more than once, learn to ignore your friend and walk away, in effect showing him or her that you don’t care for them unless they care for themselves first.

Tips on How to Motivate a Team

Category: MotivationAnders Eriksson @ 11:48 am

If you have even a passing interest in the topic of Motivation, then you should take a look at the following information. This enlightening article presents some of the latest news on the subject of Motivation.

In many times of your life, you will need to lead people. The opportunities to do so, moreover, will not be few and far between. For instance, in school, you needed to push people to finish their work in your laboratory or group exercises so that you did not become the last group in class to pass your work. In the workplace, you often have to tell people how to work together, and remind them of deadlines constantly so that you are not behind on your workload.

Even your weekend getaways can be times and places where you need to motivate a team. You may need to push your family to get out of bed so that you can all go to church, or so that you can all get to the party in the next town just in time. Or you may have a group of friends who aren’t quite sure if they should go into business together, and you need to motivate them to start getting to work.

In other words, you will find no dearth of opportunities for you to learn how to motivate a team. With the many different personalities on the planet, it is not unlikely that the people on your team will have as many different personalities as there are members of your team. You need to not only make sure that these personalities do not clash, but push these team members to forget about their differences and produce output. Here are a few tips that you may want to consider when you start motivating your team.

How can you put a limit on learning more? The next section may contain that one little bit of wisdom that changes everything.

- Be firm, not pushy. The biggest mistake that managers make when they try to get their teams together is to emphasize the importance of output over everything else, personalities included. This can be a great way to get the job done of course, but if you have to keep reminding people every single day about how good they are, about how they should not mind each other’s quirks and idiosyncrasies, and about how they have to finish a job, then you can get sick on two different fronts. One, you can get emotionally worn out at having to keep on repeating yourself.

Two, your team can simply just get sick of you.

- Be realistic with your deadlines. The day of the art of procrastination, and the myth of working best under pressure, is gone. If you are in school, then so be it, pull an all-nighter and get your work done. But if you are in the office, then you need to have some discipline. Treat your team members like adults, not slaves, and certainly not students. Don’t cut too close and give them short deadlines. Two different disasters may occur. Your team can either finish on time, but you can get poorly made output; or your team doesn’t finish it on time at all, and you don’t get the output that you need.

- For the best results, consult with your team. Recent research in social anthropology have shown that people will work best not when they are under pressure, but when they are empowered to do things themselves. This concept of participation and engagement is gaining ground in many different fields, from management to education. Keep this in mind when you are trying to motivate your team: consult with it on what deadlines will work best, negotiate these deadlines, talk to them about work output, and give them the power to decide things on their own. If you empower people, you can motivate them easily.

- Have some rewards ready for a job well done and make sure that your team knows about these rewards.

I hope that reading the above information was both enjoyable and educational for you. Your learning process should be ongoing–the more you understand about any subject, the more you will be able to share with others.

5 Easy Ways to Motivate Students

Category: MotivationAnders Eriksson @ 1:23 pm

Would you like to find out what those-in-the-know have to say about Motivation? The information in the article below comes straight from well-informed experts with special knowledge about Motivation.

Motivation in school is something most kids struggle with but if students, parents, and teachers cooperate with each other, studying won’t be such a hardship.

The Importance of Positive Feedback
Believe it or not but there are teachers and parents indeed who have difficulty saying simple words like ?good job? and ?congratulations?. They may be merely words, but never underestimate its impact on a child’s morale. Knowing that their hard work, no matter how small, is appreciated always motivates a child to do better next time.

The Right Time, Place, and Reason for Studying
Kids can be more motivated by studying if they know and understand the importance of studying. You need to speak their language so that they’ll appreciate your efforts in making them study hard. If you want them to study, the best way to do that is to make them want the same thing as well.

The right environment is also crucial for motivating students. Having their own study table in their bedroom is good, but a bed in proximity could make them feel more impatient? If possible, have them study in your library, office, or a place where there are no possible distractions.

Students won’t be motivated if your demands are too excessive. Be reasonable with your expectations. Don’t expect them to devote all their free time to studying. Having them do so isn’t healthy anyway. Choose the appropriate schedule and amount of time for their studies and your child will be more motivated to do what you want.

Help Them Develop Goals
Simply asking them to ?study harder? won’t be enough. Giving them a routine for studying at home is a good start, but it’s not enough. People of all ages are more motivated when they have actual goals to focus on.

I trust that what you’ve read so far has been informative.

The following section should go a long way toward clearing up any uncertainty that may remain.

A good goal is SMART: specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, and time-bound.

General goals are difficult to achieve because they ask too much. Goals are more motivating if they state exactly what you should be after. Goals must also be measurable; if not, how can you know when you’ve achieved your goal? For students, goals are usually measured by their grades or certain academic or interscholastic achievements like being voted class president or winning a championship.

Goals must be realistic in the sense that they’re something a person can actually do. Goals must also be attainable. Given the circumstances and resources of a student, is the goal still achievable?

Lastly, goals must be time-bound as time can also be a source of motivation. With a deadline to meet, your child will be motivated to work hard early and diligently.

Rewards and Repercussions
No person is too old for rewards. It’s just a matter of choosing the right reward to motivate them. You’ll have to speak with your child to know what kind of reward they’ll be most motivated with. But there must be repercussions at the same time for additional motivation.
Repercussions, however, must be minor in comparison; you don’t want to motivate your child by fear and coercion, do you?

Motivate by Example
Last but not the least, be a role model to your child. You may not have the same goals, but whatever methods you apply to reach your goal can be something your child could adapt for his own goals.

Do all these and your child will be properly motivated in school!

Don’t limit yourself by refusing to learn the details about Motivation. The more you know, the easier it will be to focus on what’s important.

Paving the Way to Continuous Self-Motivation

Category: MotivationAnders Eriksson @ 6:17 pm

This interesting article addresses some of the key issues regarding Motivation. A careful reading of this material could make a big difference in how you think about Motivation.

In order to succeed and live a comfortable life, everyone needs constant motivation. This is because when people are motivated, they become more aggressive in achieving their goals and dreams in life.

Experts say that though motivation from other people helps a lot, it is best if one starts with motivating him or herself. This is because if one knows how to motivate him or herself, that person would be able to make decisions that would affect his or her life in the future.

In order to motivate one’s self, the first thing that needs to be done is by developing a positive outlook in life. This is very important because if one keeps an open and positive outlook towards life in general, he or she will be able to overcome the everyday struggle that would come along the way. Also, if one has a positive outlook in life, he or she will be able to turn failures into successes by seizing each opportunity that knock on the door.

Although this might be simple, many people are still having difficulties in achieving this because of so many factors such as per

sonality, upbringing, and ways of managing stress as well as failure. Experts say that for one to develop a positive outlook in life, he or she must be able to keep a positive attitude first. Once positive attitude is set, it is easier to look things in an orderly way. For one to develop positive attitude, he or she must undergo self-reassessment to find out what are his or her strengths as well as the weaknesses. Once all of these have been identified, it will be easier to turn the bad ones into good ones and there would also be greater chances of making the positive ones better.

You may not consider everything you just read to be crucial information about Motivation. But don’t be surprised if you find yourself recalling and using this very information in the next few days.

ONE STEP AT A TIME

Self-motivation is not an easy task. It would require so much self-assessment as well as constant reflection over one’s self, on his or her environment, the people that surround him or her and the overall condition of life that he or she is in. Experts say that once each of these has been thoroughly assessed, it will be easier to pave the way for continuous self-motivation. The following are just some of steps that people can do in order for them to motivate themselves regularly:

1. Start small. This is one of the easiest ways to start with self-motivation. By starting small and simple, you are not putting too much pressure on yourself about the things that you need to do and what are you supposed to accomplished in a specific period of time. By starting small, you will be able to accomplish easier tasks and you can move on to bigger challenges ahead knowing that you have gone though the entire process.

2. Gather all the “motivators” around you and keep them as you progress. “Motivators” refers to people or things that would keep one motivated. For starters, these are very important because these will serve as a reminder on the things that they need to do and what do they aim for.
